RICHARD LEE, Chief Executive Officer
Richard Lee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Detroit and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.  His 50-year career in the wireless industry spans technology, devices & network equipment, and semiconductors.  He was involved in the first mobile assisted-GPS technology launch in Japan. He started his career at Motorola as RF engineer and later in management both in its communication and cellular sectors. Rich moved to early cellular and PCS operations with US West/Air Touch, and PrimeCo (both now Verizon Wireless), before assignment internationally to Bouygues Mobile, Versailles, France for its 1994 cellular launch. He held executive positions in wireless and GPS companies including Global Locate (later acquired by Broadcom), and as executive and co-founder of RX Networks, Vancouver, BC (acquired by BD Star, Beijing), before launching iPosi, Inc.

CHRISTOPHER KURBY, Senior Vice President of Engineering
Christopher Kurby earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering, and a Master of Science degree in engineering management from Northwestern University. Before iPosi, Chris worked for Motorola in their radio communication engineering ascending in his last position to the Chief Technology Officer of Motorola Mobility. There he was also Senior Member of the Technical Staff, where he held the company’s highest title of engineering excellence, Dan Noble Fellow. He holds 39 US patents issued or pending, mostly in satellite communications and GPS technology.

ERIC DERBEZ, Senior GNSS & Software Architect
Eric Derbez earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from McMaster University, Ontario, and a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in mathematics and physics from the University of British Columbia. After his post-doctorate program, Eric started his career in assisted-GPS/GNSS with eRide, Inc, and then Navcom/John Deere before becoming Principal Engineer at RX Networks, Vancouver BC, where he designed the first commercial predictive orbit solution now in several billion phones, devices.  He has been the principal or co-inventor of many filings regarding ephemeris encoding, on-board prediction, and client and server-side software and systems design in assisted-GPS technology.


BRENT BETTENCOURT, Chief Strategy Officer

An iPosi founder, Brent Bettencourt is currently advising as a C-level business and technology leader with over 30 years of wireless and satellite/aerospace industry experience. Brent’s extensive operations experience includes serving as CTO for AirPrime (acquired by Sierra Wireless), Director of Strategic Technologies for Verizon, and Strategic Technology Director for Air Touch from 1994 to 1999 (acquired by Vodafone). He formed WaveAdvisors to provide industry consulting in 2012. Brent holds an MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School and a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara.

NANCY SLOANE, VP Marketing Communications
A full-stack marketing communications executive, Nancy Sloane has over 25 years of experience as a marketing communications agency principal, creative director, and CMO. She served as Director of Brand & Integrated Marketing Communications for Liquidity Services, Inc., a global, publicly traded company in the circular economy. With a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida cum laude in mass communications and photojournalism, she is an AP-style writer, award winning graphic designer, and photographer. Having led teams that have built hundreds of successful local, regional, and global campaigns for companies in a variety of industries, she develops strategies and manages tactics to raise awareness and build brands to advance financial, business, and technology communication objectives.
